Heroes in Faith Part 2 – Abraham

September 13th, 2020 - God called Abraham into a relationship and tested his faith.   If we are honest with ourselves, God does not find us, we find God.   God is the one doing the calling.   It is our choice to answer the call and have faith in what He asks us to do.  Abraham had a accumulated lot of possessions and, by the standards of the day, was very successful in Haran where he was living.  But Abraham had no children.   When his father died, he was called by God to move to Canaan.  We know now the rest of the story.  Nations would be built from Abraham who, before he acted on God's call, had no children and a wife who could not bear any.   God promised him his offspring would number the stars and He kept that promise.   Are we answering God's call for our lives?  As Psalm 127:1 says, 'Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain.'   In anything we do in our lives, we must ask if we are following our plan, or God's plan, one that is built on His will and the purpose He has set for your life.
