August 16th, 2020 – Have you ever had a plan for your day and right out of the gate something happens that alters that plan. Imagine if you are Paul, formerly Saul, the persecutor of Christians in the early church. A devout Jew who, as he put it, ‘obeyed the law without fault’ (Philippians 3:6). On the road of Damascus to pursue Christians there, his life was forever changed by the ‘word of God’. Peter, likewise, was given a vision that opened his mind up to the Gentiles through the word of God that anything God has made is not unclean. Everyday there is an opportunity for us to hear a new purpose in our lives. Each day, we fall into the habit of looking for wisdom and revelation in the world. What riches, though, await us when we order our living through Christ Jesus and look to God to steer us through tribulation and place us where He wants us to be. But we have to be open to His word and receive the spiritual knowledge that he has prepared for us.
