May 15th, 2022 - The early Laodicean church by all accounts was a wealthy and well established church. They had become so by appearing to be both faithful to the teachings of Christ but also adopting worldly provisions to grow. Christ called them out on this 'lukewarm' approach to their ministry. They believed that because of their riches, God had blessed them. So in their minds, they were not failing. But being rich in the world does not equate to being rich in Christ.
