April 7th, 2024 – When Mary went to the tomb to anoint Jesus’ body, she found the tomb empty but then Jesus appeared to her as she wept.   While John and Peter witnessed the empty tomb, they went back to the other disciples to possibly discuss what they had seen and what it meant.  Mary and Jesus’ relationship was a restorative one.  He had taken her literally from the bonds of slavery to evil possession to a place of peace and redemption.  And her faithfulness was rewarded by being the first He appeared to.   Her joy was palpable as you read this story in scripture and as it should be for us each time we enter into an act of worship.  For we too have been restored by Christ through is death, burial and resurrection.
