Spiritual Forces in Heavenly Places – August 10th, 2025

When we forget that we are engaged in a spiritual battle, we lose sight of our vital dependence on the Spirit of God. It is only through the Spirit that we can maintain our defense against the forces that seek to draw us away from God and into darkness. Not every hardship we face is a direct attack from the Evil One. But make no mistake, he is actively working to pull us down. His tactics are rarely overt. Instead, he operates subtly, patiently, like rushing water that slowly erodes stone. Over time, he can even twist our own beliefs, persuading us that Scripture is outdated and must be reinterpreted to align with a more "tolerant" world so that we can be more accessible to a different evolution of the human condition. A world that no longer resembles the world Christ walked in.This is a lie. If we allow the Enemy access to our hearts or minds, he gains a foothold. From there, he launches further attacks, slowly stripping us from our relationship with God and turning us back to the very things that once held us captive. But God has not left us defenseless. He has given us two essential tools to stand firm: His Spirit, who dwells within us, and His Word. The Holy Spirit grants us wisdom and discernment to recognize the Enemy’s strategies. And through that discernment, we can test everything against the unchanging truth of God’s Word which is given to us for teaching, correction, and defense. Life came with a user manual. That manual is the Bible. It is not outdated, and it is not dead. It is the living Word of God, and His truth never changes. "For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart." — Hebrews 4:12 (ESV) Ephesians 6:10-18
