If you asked people what they most desire, many would say money, a better job, stronger relationships, or better health. But beneath those answers, the deepest longing is peace.
The lottery may climb into the billions, yet past winners often find money brings new troubles instead of rest. The world’s solutions never satisfy for long. They often make life heavier, not lighter.
Jesus offers something better. He said, “Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid” (John 14:27). His peace is lasting. It does not add to suffering but steadies us in the midst of it.
A clear picture is found on the stormy sea. The disciples feared for their lives until Jesus spoke, “Peace. Be still.” At His word the wind ceased and the water grew calm (Mark 4:39).
We are not spared from life’s storms, but we are given Christ’s presence in them. His peace guards our hearts and assures us that God is with us and will not forsake us.
Let Christ enter your life. Rest in His peace.
