We face temptations every day. And the things that tempt us seem to change with each generation. What was considered wrong only a few years ago is now often accepted by the world. Make no mistake—the nature of sin may wear a different disguise, but it is still sin in the eyes of God.
Patrick Henry once warned, “A long habit of not thinking a thing wrong gives it a superficial appearance of being right.” But God’s law does not change. It has remained constant and unshaken since He first gave it to us.
The prophet Isaiah declared, “Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness” (Isaiah 5:20). And the writer of Hebrews reminds us that “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever” (Hebrews 13:8).
So when we wrestle with whether something is right or wrong, the answer is not found in the shifting values of the world. We must seek His Word. It is, and always will be, the truth.
